El 16 de Julio de 2011 a la 1:00 AM, un joven trabajador agricola fue golpeado mortamente por un vehiculo regresando en bicicleta a su lugar de trabajo. Mynor Rodriguez Corona eran un joven de 22 años que acaba de llegar a Canada para trabajar como trabajador agricola temporal a la granga o finca Potagère Riendeau, cerca en Saint Remi en la Monteregie. Como alrededor de 25,000 trabajadores provenientes de la America Latina trabajan en los campos de la Monteregie, a cada temporada de cosecha, Mynor vivia en la finca donde trabaja. Muchos de estos trabajadores Muchos de estos trabajadores no pueden darse el lujo detener un automóvil y por lo tanto deben viajar jar en bicicleta para salir de la granja. Sin embargo, las rutas que utilizan a menudo son estrechas, sin señalización ,ni iluminación eso hace que la noche oscura, muy peligrosa dado que la visibilidad de los conductores es limitada. Este estado de cosas contribuye al aislamiento de los trabajadores, ya separados de sus familias, y desorientada en un país extranjero. Los trabajadores agrícolas de temporada, están pidiendo a autoridades locales, provinciales y federales, para tener en cuenta nuestra realidad, y para desarrollar medidas concretas para nuestra seguridad.
