Le Centre des travailleurs et travailleuses immigrants (CTI) et Engrenage Rouage Noir vous invitent à participer à un projet d’art activiste communautaire, co-créé  avec les travailleurs et travailleuses afin qu’elles puissent partager leurs témoignages de résistance et de dignité dans leurs combats.
Des Voix Migrantes à Mayworks offre une série d’ateliers aux croisements des arts, des médias et des stratégies collectives pour mettre en valeur les visions et les voix dans les combats pour la justice dans nos lieux de travail. Dans les semaines à venir, les participants exploreront de multiples approches artistiques, basés sur les pratiques du Théâtre de l’Opprimé (Brésil, Argentine), de la Pocha Nostra (Mexique, Californie), du Teatro Campesino (Californie), ainsi que le travail d’artistes activistes invitées. Touchant à de multiples disciplines, le théâtre, l’écriture, la vidéo, la photographie, les arts visuels, le son et la performance, les participants travailleront une création collective pour le Mayworks 2013, un festival qui célèbre les luttes des travailleurs migrants à travers les arts. Cette initiative donne suite aussi au projet des Voix Migrantes, un projet de radio communautaire par lequel des travailleurs et travailleuses ont enregistrés une série de témoignages audio qui documentaient leurs expériences d’exploitation, comme celles de courage et de pouvoir collectif.
Nous vous invitons à vous joindre à nous pour prendre les premiers pas dans ce projet ensemble. Si vous êtes intéressées, curieuses, ou simplement souhaitez vous amusez, vous pourrez participer à concevoir ce projet avec des amies et alliées du CTI.

The Immigrant Workers Centre (IWC) and Engrenage Rouage Noir invite participants to take part in a community activist art project, co-created by workers and for workers to share stories of resistance and dignity in struggle.
From Migrant Voices to Mayworks offers a series of workshops to engage with arts, media and collective strategies to bring vision and voice to struggles for workplace justice. In the coming weeks, participants will explore a variety of approaches, based on Theatre of the Oppressed (Brazil/ Argentina), La Pocha Nostra (Mexico/California), El Teatro Campesino (California) and the work of invited local and international arts activists and collectives. Engaging with a variety of media, theatre, text, video, photography, visual arts, sound and performance, participants will work towards a collectively-created performance for MayWorks 2013, a festival that celebrates the struggle of working people through the arts. This initiative also builds upon Migrant Voices project, a grassroots radio project in which workers recorded a series of audio testimonies chronicling their experiences of exploitation, but also of courage and collective power.
Please join us in the first steps of building this project together. If you are interested, curious, or simply ready to have some fun, you can take part in devising this work with friends and allies of the IWC.

El Centro de trabajadores y trabajadoras inmigrantes (CTI) y Engrenage Rouage Noir les invitan a participar en un proyecto de arte activista comunitario, co-realizado por trabajadoras y trabajadores con el objetivo de compartir sus historias resistencia y dignidad en sus luchas.
De las voces migrantes a Mayworks ofrece una serie de talleres sobre la encrucijada de las artes, los medios y las estrategias colectivas para dar a conocer las visiones y voces a las luchas por la justicia en los sitios de trabajo. En las próximas semanas, los participantes explorarán diferentes acercamientos basados en El teatro de los oprimidos (Brasil/Argentina), La pocha nostra (México/California), El teatro campesino (California) y la obra de varios artistas activistas y colectivos. Trabajando con diversos medios teatrales, textuales y, los participantes unirán sus esfuerzos para llevar a cabo una actuación creada colectivamente para MayWorks 2013, un festival que celebra la lucha de los trabajadores a través de las artes. La iniciativa da seguimiento al proyecto Voces migrantes, un proyecto radial popular en el que varios trabajadores grabaron una serie de testimonies audios evidenciando sus experiencias, por una parte, de explotación, por otra, de coraje y poder colectivo.
Así que vengan a compartir con nosotros en los primeros pasos de este proyecto. Si están interesados, tienen curiosidad o sólo quieren divertirse, igual podrán participar en la realización de este proyecto junto con los amigos y aliados del CTI.
